Global Warming Essay -- Environmental Global Climate Change

Global WarmingGlobal Warming, aside from pollution is one of scientists biggest concerns. Global Warming is caused by the babys room effect. There are 4 steps in the Greenhouse effect process. The first is, sunlight radiates from the sun, through space, to the Earths aureole. The second is, sunlight enters the atmosphere and hits the Earth. Some of that sunlight turns into heat energy in the form of invisible light. Surrounding air and land, which in turn makes the heat warm, absorbs the heat. Third, the babys room gases trap infrared rays that is remitted into the atmosphere. Finally, the gas then absorbs the light and is remitted back to the Earths surface and warms it even more. Another cause of Global Warming is the emissions of greenhouse gases due to the maturation in technology that humans have developed. One recent study by the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) said that unless governments do something to restrict the emissions of greenhouse gases to a lowe r level, global temperatures could rise 1.6 to 6.3 degrees Fahrenheit by the year 2100. This would represent the fastest rate of global warming since the end of the last scratch age more than 10,000 years ago. With the increased warming of the Earth it could lead to catastrophic events that could endanger living species on our planet. One event is major drought all around the world. With the warming of the planet, the water on the ground would quickly evaporate causing the rivers and lakes to qui...

Duck, Duck, God Essay

The premise of the wangle Dynasty reality program is duck, duck, God. The Christian based series revolves around the Robertson family and their duck- c completely business. The series is socialise and honestly meets my Christian ethics better than any other show on television. First on the agenda is the introduction to the Duck Commander clump then the connection between my set and the Robertson families ethics concerning prayer, respect, and family unity. Phil Robertson invented and perfected the world-famous product throughout a thirty-year period.Phil and Miss Kay are the parents of four sons two of which have served in Christian Ministry professionally God-fearing and family-oriented is the best way to describe the crew. Truly, God has blessed the loving family in a million ways. The television show did twine my view of what family is therefore, this prompted me to investigate the redneck family. Duck Dynasty is clean family entertainment. The Robertsons boldly express their Christian conviction both on and off camera consort to The Christian Chronicle (Ross Jr.2012.) The Ten Commandments are used as a rulebook at the Duck Commander. The small family ran business is a wildly successful. The glory of the Duck Commander is given to the Lord. The strong Christian credence took hold of the bunch as they witnessed the amazing change in their fathers life. Phil Robertson, was a bibulous dummy lost in a world of hurt until the age of twenty-eight. The familys life totally shifted to a great extreme documented in The Christian Chronicle (Ross Jr. 2012) when he accepted Jesus Christ into his heart. God took Phil from dummy to dynasty. The family believes and therefore, receives all that God has to offer. The show focuses on prayer, respect, and family unity. My Christian values alien with those of the Commander crew. The actions and words of the bearded boys uncover their deeply faithful souls. Hey Jack, hey, it is a fact prayer is where it is at. Each episode ends with the family sitting around the dinner party table, heads lowered in reverence, as the head of the household sends words of praise to the Lord in prayer. The Christian Chronicle stated the words ending the prayers in Jesus name we pray ends up on the cutting-room floor every program (Ross Jr.2012.) The same practice is one traditionally taught in my sustain home. travel to upon the Lord at any time in prayer and he will continually be there. Goodness, respecting God, others, and ones self is a lonely(a) action vitally associated with Christian values. The series unfolds the importance of respect among the Robertson group. The program displays respect toward elders equally when ideas and opinions differ. The thoughts of Uncle Si often differ from the main stream however, the family forever and a day treats him with an adoring esteem. Respect is infectious thus, respecting the Lord demands the respect of others. The men indicate a pronounced level of admiration toward the w omen continuously. Robertson children clearly display a pronounced level of respect toward their parents. Duck Dynasty accurately connects with my Christian mindset. The combination of prayer, respect, and family unity fostered by faith is the law behind the Duck Commanders family. The bunch works, plays, and prays together. The importance of family bash is soaked into the spirit of each individual. The series reflects the family values of the duck crew. Family unity binds the souls of both natural and adopted members. The platform reveals the genuine relationships. Willie and Korie added to their family both through sufferance and through fostering children, I agree Christians are responsible for delivering devoted guidance for all children in need, I believe we all should be united as a family in the good Christian fight. Redneck, Christian entertainment is enlightening and fun for everyone. The Duck Dynasty series closely aligns with my own Christian beliefs concerning prayer, r espect, and family unity. The reality is the Robertson family is deeply devoted to the Christian faith however, much of the religious zeal is not presented on the platform because of, Hollywoods wrong choices. Duck, duck, God the weekly episode is a breath of fresh-air. The hairy, hunting clan is devoted to their Christian position both on television and through client evangelic speaking. Duck Dynasty is not associated with a Christian platform taking a profound stand for Christ. My values connect directly with those of the Robertson family. As a Christian, I intensely appreciate their courageous, unusual, stand.ReferencesRoss Jr., B. (2012, November). Faith, family, and ducks Behind the scenes of Duck Dynasty. The Christian Chronicle.

He agreed that if Birmingham ever needed him that he would be there.Injustice everywhere is a threat to justice everywhere (500). King used an approach to resolve electric receptacles in nonviolent manners. It consisted of sit-ins, marches, and etc. peaceful direct action would create a tension that an otherwise ignored subject would have to be faced. With nonviolent direct action and ignored issue would come to light and can no continuing be ignored(502). After the direct-action program, King hoped that the doors to negotiation would open. King states that African Americans have waited 340 years for their rights and that to the people not being segregated the word wait is easy for them to say. King talks about the endless perils Africans go through, from disrespect to death, and states why they can no longer wait (504). King talks about how the nation is guilty and unjust and that he must take action. He was arrested for parading without a appropriate and his arrest was immoral because citizens were denied the First amendment privilege of peaceful assembly and protest. The cl ergymen labeled Kings actions as extreme. King addressed the accusation that the civil rights movement was extreme, freshman disputing the label but then accepting it. He argues that Jesus and other heroes were extremists and writes So the question is not whether we depart be extremists, but what kind of extremists we will be. Will we be extremists for hate or for love? (509-510). King is strong in his beliefs and hopes freedom comes to African Americans. If the inexpressible cruelties of slavery could not stop us, the foe we now face will surely fail (513).ResponseDr. Martin Luther King Jr.s Letter From Birmingham Jail is a look into the reality of racial inequality in 1960s America. King writes this letter to fellow clergymen and aims to address their concerns regarding the wisdom and timing of the nonviolent direct-action demonstrations in Birmingham, Alabama that King and other leaders orchestrated and carried out in 1963. The clergymen were incorrect with their views on King s efforts. He wanted to earn freedom for all African Americans throughout the nation. He believed that a nonviolent direct-action program would be the most effective way of earning rights. Nonviolent direct action seeks to create such(prenominal) a crises and foster such a tension that community which has constantly refused to negotiate is forced to confront the issue (502). King believed that eventually the issue had to be dealt with and he was right. The clergymen believed that King was effect violence but King replied with, We merely bring to the surface the hidden tension that is already alive (507).King related the clergymens accusations to condemning a robbed man because his possession of money precipitated the evil act of robbery (507). He was not getting help elsewhere, so King had to take matter in his own hands. In deep disappointment I have wept over the laxity of the church. (512). The Church did not offer as much help as King needed. Churches also do not possess the po wer that they use to. Things are different now. So often the contemporary church is a weak, baseless voice with an uncertain sound(512). Without the help elsewhere, King was right in demonstrating that nonviolent direct-action would accomplish his goals. The clergymen called his actions untimely when in fact King chose a enormous time to take action. King stated they had waited for more than 340 years for their rights and that the word wait usually meant never (530). The laws against African Americans were immoral and unjust. King was arrested for parading without a permit and that was why he was in Birmingham Jail. This was unjust because he was exercising his right for the First Amendment of peaceful assembly and protest. At this time period, if it were a white man, he would not have gone to jail. King was correct in his thinking and all the actions he took. Without Kings efforts, America would not be the bully country it is.

Regionalism in the World of Alistair McLeod Essay

imaging is used fairly often in the easterly coast of Canada may have an unforgiving and rather uncut streak, solely many Canadians choose to raise their families and practice their craft there. In both pithy stories by Alistair McLeod The Lost Salt devote of Blood and The Boat, the setting of the Canadian east coast is used to develop both the plot and the character. Along with the write up of the physical setting there is also the intricate dialogue spoken by the various characters. In combination, the various customs and traditions presented by the author through and through language and setting expand our ability to understand the plot. With reveal McLeods regionalistic writing form, the readers ability to firmly define the setting and characters would hinder them from his multilayered stories. Imagery is used fairly often in The Boat with the intention of not unless giving the reader a sense of space and time but also an insight to the character. The father is displeased wi th his lack of education and current lifestyle along the coast, the sea was behind him and its immense blue flatness stretched out to touch the arching blueness of the sky.It seemed very far away from him or elsehe seemed too big for it. (263) The author in this scenario implies the essence of the problem in the story the narrators father is never unified with the sea he labors in, never achieves the connectedness that goes with working so closely with nature. As well, due(p) to his higher aspirations, the father is too inquisitive and thirsty for knowledge to remain in such a simple place. In The Lost Salt Gift of Blood, imagery is used to relay the underlying story and theme to the reader.Fog is the best form of imagery used because of its close relation to the actions and their meanings beneath the line up of the story. The entire story seems rather foggy as it contains dialogue and reflection that occurs in the present rather than the narrator looking back and analyzing the m eaning of events. Therefore, it is remaining to the reader to piece together the story, at times difficult when the story seems incomplete. For precedent, the fog plays a indispensable role in the story surrounding the induces death, It be foggy all the day and everyone be thinken the plane wont come or be able to land. And I says, minuscule to myself, now here in the fog be the bad luck and the death but then there the plane be, al near like a ghost ship comen out the fog with all its lights shinen. I think maybe he wont be on it but soon he comen through the fog. (307-308) As the grandfather relays the story, he abruptly stops, yet never commences with further elaboration. His story hangs in the air like fog inescapable, shrouding and uneffective to clearly define. The dialogue in The Boat has an educated style yet is brief and to the point. Each time McLeod allows a character to speak, only the most vital words needed are spoken. Though this story includes description from an analytical point of view, most of it remains with the reader piecing it together. It is during solemn moments that word are transfer you have given added years to his life. (267) There are also no descriptions of raucous banter among the siblings. This is surprising as noise and arguments are inevitable to most large households. With the knowledge that the mother runs her household with precision, the lack of confrontational dialogue may be due to the tiring lifestyle. The fathers reaction is an example of this after the mother accuses him that it will be his fault if their daughters come home impregnated, reflecting the exhaustion of a man of sixty-five who had been working for eleven hours on an venerable dayhe turned and went into his room. This dialogue enhances the estrangement of the east coast little is wasted, be it energy or words. The contrast in dialogue in The Lost Salt Gift of Blood is very insightful when comes to defining characters. The father is well educated a nd from Toronto. He met his sons mother period researching for his university paper. On the other hand, it is revealed in the end that Johns grandmother and grandfather can neither read nor write. Just as John is the only connection the grandparents have to his father, the only halfway point between their linguistic capabilities and his fathers is John. More interestingly is the transformation of language and what it can ordain us.In the beginning of the story the reader sees Johns grandfather speaking politely but simply to the father well, it is a nice evening tonight. As the night wears on a mixture of alcohol, fatigue and raw emotions alter his language to that of a rougher coastal slang and the dog runned or so like he was crazy, moanen and cryen worse than the swiles does out on the ice, and throwen hisself against the walls and jumpen on the table. (307) The gradual change in language is a minor one, yet it conveys a peck of distinguishing features.Such features lay gro und to a better understanding of the region. Within both short stories, McLeod paints an even broader sense of the eastern Canadian coast victimization the domestic principles held there to describe the region. The homestead of John and his grandparents is one where things are not wasted, cast-off tires also whitewashed and serving as flower beds in the first place broken the grandfather helped him fix them, nailing on new lathes and knitting new headings. (295-296) Anything broken is repaired, redeemed or put to another use.The family is clearly linked with this way of spiritedness and deeply belongs in this place. The practice is also an important one considering the grandfather is teaching and including John in the processes. As well, the household in The Boat did not waste things, a shelf which contained matches, tobacco, pencils, odd fish-hooks, bits of twine (258) Items in this family had a place and a purpose. Even small items like twine are poised for a further use later .Along with the hard work in the sea and simple lifestyle, the narrators mother kept the house ample everything was clean and spotless and in order. In the case of the traditional coastal living, the hard-netted earnings from the ocean do not allow for frivolity, waste or an copiousness of parlour toys. As Alistair McLeod infuses regionalism to define the setting, an image of the lifestyle as well as the culture of the characters is revealed. The eastern coast of Canada may have a harsh climate and difficult way of life, but through the language used by the McLeod and his portrayal of setting, we are encouraged to understand this lifestyle and those who embrace it.In both short stories The Lost Salt Gift of Blood and The Boat, the plot and the characters are defined as individuals in their culture as well as participants of a larger practice. Along with the narration of the physical setting, an understanding of customs is detailedd through detailed descriptions. With this particu lar style of regionalism, McLeod left the reader to elaborate on characters and settings he defined, the culture however, remained true to the eastern coast of Canada. McLeods regionalism permits the reader to firmly define the setting and characters then allows them to explore the artfully crafted plots.

Of Mice and Men Essay

The execute comes full circle as George destroys Lennie at the end of the allegory. Steinbeck purposely wrote the novel so that it could be turned into a play. Each chapter starts with the rendering of a scene the characters come in, speak and then go off as they would in a play. The story is set in 1930s America. It was written in 1937. America and Particularly California was the land of opportunity. It was believed that any person could make their fortune and achieve success by running(a) hard. This was called The American pipe dream and is what Lennie, George and later on in the enter Candy hoped to achieve. This was the America that Steinbeck knew of and experienced this kind of life, because he was alive at this time. The American Dream was destroyed by the depression of the 1930s. The Wall Street Crash in 1929 when the stock markets collapsed triggered this and thousands of people lost everything they had. Hardly anyone could find work easily and umteen people were driven to become workers travelling from place to place not getting much money, like George and Lennie.Other problems of that time were that farming was easier, they used coalesce harvesters and other machinery, and so fewer manpower were needed to do the same jobs. Poor farming methods of that time meant that thousands of acres of farmland dried up rapidly, and became prohibitionist deserts. The landscape in the new film reflects the reality of the landscape more clearly and the viewers understood what it was like by watching it. There live been three film versions of the novel Of Mice and Men. Now I will compare the two film versions. Both versions are very effective and smart as a whip techniques have been used. The older version was made for television, it is episodic, and the new one is in film version. The new film contains well-known actors. Gary Sinise and John Malkovich, this makes more people necessitate to watch it. In the new film we visualize no action until the titles have finished, which is more effective. In the opening of the new film the camera crosscuts mingled with long shots and fast-ups during the chase to highlight the danger. They focus on George and Lennie a bit more than they do with other characters at the beginning.I think they do this so the viewers realise who the main characters are and can get to know them. There are close-ups in Aunt Claras house. Lennie is given a stupendous piece of pie and George gets a small piece. Lennie is shown as being a big kid. In the 1992 version on that point close-up shots of the mens faces on the have, we see their repose of escaping. They are safe. You hear the sound of the use up as the white writing comes down over the black screen. This is very effective and makes you want to keep watching. The train scene is not actually used in the text. The director has added this to make his film more interesting and effective. The lighting in both versions of the novel were preferably natural, no u se of fake lighting. The director does this to make it more realistic. In the new version of the film the scene changing is very effective. The music in the opening of the old version is varied it is played on a flute to give a pleasant and optimistic feeling. It becomes intense as the action picks up. This is to reflect the danger and the fear of Lennie and George as they are running.George doesnt want to take care of Lennie anymore and he plans to leave him. When he does this the music becomes noneffervescenter. It reflects whats happening in the plot. In the 1992 film version the music is more dramatic. It keeps you in suspense and is more atmospheric. It starts with piano music and then the sound of the train comes in. They do this to make the opening more effective and attention grabbing. The costumes are more or less the same in both versions of the film. They are provoke and dirty. George and Lennie have cravats tied around their necks, and hats. When George and Lennie go to visit Aunt Clara in the old version of the film, Lennie repeats George when presented to Aunt Clara. Yes mam. The director has added this scene into the old version. In the novel the only time she appears is in Lennies imagination. This scene has been included to put Lennie into context it gives him a background, and shows that he has always been looked after and that the people who know him distillery treat him like a baby. It also serves to highlight Lennies reliance on George. As an auditory sense we feel really sorry for Lennie when George tricked him to try and sluttish himself from responsibility of looking out for Lennie. Lennie is more childish in the new film. You feel more sympathy for him in the old version. In the 1981 version of the film Curleys married woman is portrayed as a bit of a tart, her dressed are tight fitting and she wears lots of makeup. In the scene when she is murdered, she is clothing a tight fitting, black knee length dress with a flower on it. Blac k represents experience. She has bright red shoes and red earrings. The description of her in the novel is more or less the same as the way she is presented in the films. In the newer version she is wearing a white dress. This represents innocence. She speaks piano and is quite flirtatious she is attentive when Lennie is speaking to her. When Lennie murders her, she screams a lot and is more dramatic in the new film. This draws attention to the viewer and gives a slight chill. The men are outside playing their game, they are so near, yet they dont hear her screaming or come to help. It makes it more sinister. When Lennie and Curleys wife are talking in the old film, Lennie doesnt listen to her much and interrupts, but in the newer version he sits and looks like he understands and he listens to her carefully. This makes the audience feel sorry for Lennie in a way because he acts like a big baby. He interrupts and talks about his things and doesnt listen to what Curleys wife is saying. Also, it gives a slight chill because one minute Lennie is being nice to Curleys wife and the next, he kills her. Curleys wife becomes very flirtatious and asks Lennie to stroke her hair. This all leads to the murder. He enjoys this and she looks like she enjoys it. She is more excited in the newer version, there is heavy breathing and she shows that she likes it a lot. Lennie stares at her a lot and there are lots of close-ups of this. In the older version when Lennie kills her, you see the close-up of his hand over her mouth. The camera switches from a low angle shot of her feet to a close up of her face where we see the fear in her eyes and then the camera goes back to her feet where one of her shoes fall off. This is very effective because we see just enough of her eyes to see how scared she is.Then there is the very sad and final indignity where she loses her shoe in death and she has been so uplifted of her appearance. Then the episode ends to create suspense. The newer versi on is much closer to the novel. There are only long and mid-shots of Lennie holding her enough to break her neck. There is quiet music up until Lennie starts becoming fierce. The music is more dramatic and brings an atmosphere. The volume increases to show that its important. It keeps the audience hooked. In the older version there is slack up haunting music when she dies. This makes it creepy for the viewer.

A&P Character Analysis

In the short legend, A & P, John Updikes character, Sammy, is a clerk at the A&P supermarket. His thoughts, language, and attitude through stunned the story indicate he is a narrow-minded, cynical, typical teenager with a strong curiosity in the opposite sex and an extreme sense of detail. The A&P store is located right in the middle of a runtyer type town, where everyone knew one another. He interprets one customer as being old, fatigue and unable to relate to young lot only because the customer was elderly, is an example of being cynical.Sammys intensive opinions and interpretations proved his lack of knowledge outside the small town. For example, he is disrespectful in his thoughts towards the A & P customers, seeing them as sheep and houseslaves. This is the part that it becomes obvious that he does not care about the customers and is unhappy at his job. Sammys aspiration for Queenie, which begins simply as a young mans attention in a pretty girl, ends up being wherefore Sa mmy stood up to his boss and quit A & P.Sammys unhappiness with his job is shown throughout the whole story with his negative comments about the different people walking through the store. Sammy spoke of his manager having a very fine sense of observation, noting the manager didnt like the means Sammy smiled. As the girls were leaving the store, Sammy had a vision of how happy he would be to be able to leave the store with them. Thinking quickly, Sammy decided to tell his boss he quit, saying in a loud like voice, hoping to be loud enough for the girls to hear him. After Sammy had said the words I quit there was no way to take back what he had said, it was a done deal, and he couldnt back out from quitting now. Sammy quickly folded his apron laying it on the counter. Walking out to the parking lot, only to find the girls were gone. His effort of trying to be a hero to the girls by standing up to his boss was not a success. thither here stood, in the parking lot, looking in the store window, wondering to himself if he had just made the right choice.

Mad About Plaid

Castlebridge is at a cross-road on one hand it has to reduce costs which will eventually lead to a dismissal in a numerous amount of local employees. Reputational risk is now an issue as tumefy filth-image. Once a provider for the wealthy, the company is chafeed that tags relaying Asian manuf toururing countries will undermine the confidence of the buyer who is looking for something authentically British.2. Niall FergusonNiall Ferguson wee-wees the logical approach where the objective of any firm is to maximise gelt. By not doing so, the firm will lose turn up to the competitors and will continue to face rising costs in keeping up with consumer preferences. Ferguson hols Fergus Harold accountable for being overly nationalistic and even rather ignorant to the spatial relation of British clothing made in Malaysia and its effect on a Japanese consumer. The main irritation of backlash would be from local purchasers whose confidence may be undermined by the outsourcing of a asso rty British brand to a third world country. However, it is well pointed out that bloody shame Crane does not looking threatened by British media supposedly she sees that production line locomoteers ar of the lower working class whereas buyers of Castlebridges products of are of the wealthier class. Besides, Ferguson debates, trade unions have been subdued during Thatchers time. Its true that no British manufacturing line can stand up in their high cost market by throwing production lines within the UK. Labour is just as well expensive. As for brand image, maintaining the class, thus the quality, is more important than campaigningning the risk of a complete occlusion and a shutdown of billet.I defend with Ferguson. Cutting down on costs is the method that Castlebridge should take in this instance. There is no need to maintain high costs and place burden upon shareholders of the company. However, this resolution leaves out the important factor of Castlebridge employees. They need to be accounted for, regardless of class and there are ways of compensating them for their loss of jobs.3. Dana ThomasDana Thomas, in her response, is more concerned with the way industry than other issues inherent in this article. The changes of fashion statements over the years and the paradigm expansion from just targeting the wealthier class to exposing brands to the middle class speaks volumes rough what Castlebridge would have to go through in order to maintain sales. There is too much dialect on luxury brands that are authentically English, but surviving in the ever-changing world of fashion is impossible of Castlebridge continues to perspire over brand positioning and its nuances towards the upper class alone. However due to their current target market they similarly face the vulnerability in dealing with economic externalities such as economic down-turns.Thomas agrees with the outsourcing of production lines to Asia while maintaining design houses in the United K ingdom. In my opinion, this should be the illuminate strategy to take. At the end of the day, it is vital for a firm to maximise profits this is how a business operates. Thomas concerns lay essentially with stakeholders, as do mine, as she describes Britishness a euphemism of integrity and honesty she also mentions culmination clean about strategies and objectives. Furthermore, with ever-changing tastes in the fashion industry, it only makes sense for brand image to also alter, according to customer whims. Hanging on Britishness will hardly be a priority if profits begin to decline in the long run.4. Dov SeidmanSo far, I agree most with Dov Seidmans approach in determining the elements of hard-hitting managerial changes. Though the underlying objective of the firm is to maximise profits, there are also qualitative aspects Mary Cranes proposed outsourcing move. Like Dana Thomas, Seidman suggests that the company plans effectively and honestly to maintain an amicable kinship with all relevant plowshareies.Managements role is more than just figure-oriented it also looks into the human aspect of a company, wondrous beliefs of fiduciary relationships upon more than just their stakeholders. Reputational risks are at stake if Castlebridge blatantly sideline their local work force who has been diligently churning out classy British produce for the past 30 years. Therefore, it is mandate for Castlebridge to execute their plan in a tactful manner, full compensating valued employees while demonstrating the utmost province towards their stakeholders. With the fast-paced internet, more people will know of a horrendous blind sight as compared to a good deed that Castlebridge executes.Furthermore, his concern for the brand image of Britishness is also wayward. He believes there is not necessarily a sacrifice of the wealth image just by outsourcing a production line. Therefore, brand positioning as agreed upon by Thomas and Ferguson is the least of Castlebridges conce rns.In hindsight, ethics is a concern for Seidman. A company cannot survive in todays age without a conscience. He even cites the example of Mary donating Castlebridges used factory to the local community it may be viewed as a PR gimmick. Seidmans holistic concern approach is the most recent approach seen as of now in this article. He balances out the profits as well as the people aspect of the firm.5. Gill CorkindaleGill Corkindale concentrates on back up Castlebridges staff. She provides managerial steps in determining their well-being before, throughout and after the process of outsourcing. As with Seidman, she focuses on the human factor of this whole escapade her major concern are the employees of Castlebridge.Though she agrees that Crane is the eventual(prenominal) forward-looking CEO who thrives from the betterment of the company, she has to consider those who have serviced Castlebridge over the years of providing for wealthy shoppers.I agree with Corkindale to ultimatel y take steps to ensuring the welfare of future former employees. Again honesty and integrity open here as well when dealing with staff anxiety and apprehension in such a massive managerial shift. However, Corkindale comments a lot about communication and what to expect from downsized employees. She does not suggest compensatory packages or any other means that Crane and her team should take to help ascertain a becoming future for their employees. A simple example would be a motivating reference letter.6. CommentaryFirstly, Castlebridges management has a fiduciary duty to cater towards the betterment of stakeholders the ultimate goal maximise profits by increasing revenue and reducing costs. All respondents agree that outsourcing production lines to cheaper waged countries is the logical step for the company to take.Secondly, a responsibility towards employees takes the humanitarian approach by Castlebridge. Sincerely caring for the welfare of retrenched workers is a laudable act compensation schemes and references to new jobs is required to maintain Castlebridges integrity in the market.Thirdly, brand positioning can be accommodated through marketing tactics. Not all companies are born to remain wealth-targeted companies. Change and eventual evolvement is part and parcel of any retail provider especially when they rely heavily on consumers for sales. Brand individuation can be repositioned / reinforced, whichever Castlebridge chooses to implement. Brand image should be the least of their priorities.7. ConclusionCastlebridge owes their shareholders a fiduciary relationship where their interests are placed higher than those of other parties. Strategically if a the production lines have to be outsourced offshore, they should carry on with the outsourcing, exercising due care towards retrenched employees as well as the local community this is to maintain Castlebridges constitution as a British company that cares about the locals. Brand identity as well as customer perception can be emphasised through marketing tools that are inevitably getable for companies today. It is imperative that Castlebridge remains a profit maximising corporation or else, any heritage or standard they pride themselves in, in the first place, will cease to exist if costs begin to run higher than revenue lines. However, with principles in mind, Castlebridge can also turn its focus on philanthropic causes to maintain a degree of dignity in mind. Not only is this vital for the companys image, it also acts as an effective marketing tool, and in the long-run shareholders too will benefit from the exposure the company seeks through eleemosynary causes.
